Acer Support Drivers: Find the Right Drivers for Your Device
Identify Your Device Before Downloading Drivers
To ensure you download the correct drivers for your Acer device, it is essential to identify your device first. You can do this by entering your device's serial number (SNID) or model number. You can find this information on the bottom or back of your device.
Where to Find Your Serial Number or SNID
If you are not sure where to locate your serial number or SNID, Acer provides instructions on how to find it on your computer:
- Click on the Windows search bar and type "cmd".
- In the command prompt window, type "wmic bios get serialnumber" (without quotes) and press Enter.
- Your serial number will be displayed in the next line.
Windows 7 Support for Newer Laptops
It is important to note that Acer and other brands may not provide support for Windows 7 on newer laptops. If you are considering switching to Windows 7 64-bit on a newer Acer laptop, it is recommended to install the hotfix provided by Microsoft to ensure compatibility.
